While working with our young athletes we also have to give them the opurtunaty to compete with the best in our country as well as the rest of the world. Anually we have some open competitions to attrack athletes globally to take part in our competitions.
Development starts at a young age in order for the athlete to find himself and to deceid which event will suit him/her. It's also importend for the kids to enjoy every moment and to start loving the sport. We have the potential and we have to identify it, the sooner the better. Example in the photo: 60m Sprints
If the kids/athletes cannot come to the track then we as the coaches have to make a plan to go to the townships to identify the talent. You do not need all the equipment in order to identify talent. It's all about giving the kids the opurtunity to show what they can do and enjoy it as much as they can.
Example in the photo: Long Jump
To help with such development current and former athletes could form part of the coaches/helpers. This will give them also something to give back to the sport and to be proud off. Example in the photo: Namibian Star Ryan Williams assisting with the shot put.
The kids in Africa have so much potential and for many years now it was necled. We have lots of potential Olympic medal winners between us and have to identify and develop them.
Example photo: Siranda Horn former Namibian star High Jumper assisting with the Hig Jump to find some talent.
These are kids that were identified with talent. They will all now given the oppurtunity to go and train on the track with coaches.
At the track they will be introduce to some of the best Track and Field coaches in the world. Example photo: Coach Ulla Finkeldey, well known coach local and international.
It's also about to dream and dream big. We have the potential and it's time we show the world what we can do.
